5K Fun Run
A 5km fun run for conference delegates will take place on Thursday 2nd July, starting and finishing at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Birmingham on Broad Street. Participants will meet at 7:00am for a short briefing and warm-up before setting off on a guided route through Birmingham city centre, taking in many of the city’s best-known landmarks. Runners of all abilities are warmly encouraged to join.
The run will be led by England Athletics-accredited leaders from Birmingham Swifts LGBTQ+ Running Club, who will guide groups at a range of paces, ensuring no one needs to navigate the route alone. Depending on pace, the run is expected to take approximately 25–45 minutes.
The route includes Brindleyplace, Utilita Arena Birmingham, Centenary Square, ICC/Symphony Hall, the REP, Library of Birmingham, Chamberlain Square, Town Hall and Council House, New Street, Birmingham Cathedral and “Pigeon Park”, the Bullring, Birmingham Hippodrome, and the Mailbox, before returning via the canals and Black Sabbath Bridge on Broad Street.
The full route is available on Garmin Connect, allowing anyone with a compatible smartwatch to import the course or download the GPX file: Garmin Connect route
