Kelly Dawson is the Lead Neuro-Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. She has worked at NUH since qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 2011, beginning her career in Neurosurgery before joining the Neuro-Oncology service in 2013.
With more than a decade of specialist experience in Neuro-Oncology nursing, Kelly has extensive expertise in leading and managing a team of Specialist Nurses, while supporting patients with primary brain tumours throughout the entire treatment pathway,  from diagnosis and treatment to surveillance, survivorship, and end-of-life care. She has a particular clinical and professional interest in the long-term management and support of patients living with low-grade gliomas.
As Lead Neuro-Oncology CNS and Non-Medical Prescriber, Kelly plays an active role in multidisciplinary working, service development, education, and the advancement of specialist nursing practice. She works closely with the various charities such as The Brain Tumour Charity and Brainstrust to support patient education, advocacy, and service improvement initiatives.
Kelly is a former ambassador for the Ruth Strauss Foundation “No Conversation Too Tough” campaign and has previously served as a panel member for the Tessa Jowell Centre of Excellence.
