Mr Gary Walsh

Gary Walsh is one of the Brain Tumour Therapy Coordinators at the The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust. A physiotherapist by background, Gary has worked in neurosciences for 16 years, developing extensive experience supporting patients with complex neurological conditions.

Gary currently co-leads a project funded by Macmillan Cancer Support that aims to address the unmet therapy needs of people living with brain tumours across the surgical pathway and beyond. The project focuses on improving access to allied health professional (AHP) support, ensuring patients receive coordinated rehabilitation and therapy input from diagnosis through surgery and into longer-term recovery.

In 2025, Gary and colleague Anne Jammes were awarded the Best Clinical Poster at the British Neuro Oncology Society conference for their work in this area.
At this conference, Gary will present the team’s work on creating, evaluating, and sustaining a dedicated neuro-oncology AHP service at The Walton Centre and across the wider regional pathway. The project explores how therapy-led services can be embedded within neuro-oncology care and how similar models may be implemented across different healthcare systems and regions to strengthen patient support.
Outside of healthcare, Gary enjoys following and participating in a wide range of sports and travelling whenever the opportunity arises.
