Mrs Cathryn Lewis
Cathryn Lewis is Therapies Operational Lead at Velindre Cancer Centre in South Wales, where she has worked for the past six years. She joined the organisation as Clinical Lead for Occupational Therapy before progressing into her current operational leadership role three years ago.
Alongside her leadership responsibilities, Cathryn maintains a specialist clinical role within the neuro-oncology team, supporting people living with complex neurological cancers. Her clinical and research interests focus on improving access to rehabilitation and supportive care for individuals affected by neuro-oncology diagnoses.
Cathryn recently led a pilot research project evaluating the quality, safety and value of a direct occupational therapy and physiotherapy outreach service for people with neuro-oncology diagnoses. The project involved mapping existing community services, identifying unmet rehabilitation needs, and developing a four-week outreach model informed by patient and professional feedback. The findings are helping to shape future rehabilitation pathways and improve timely access to support for this patient group.
